Job Description: Coastal Vacation Properties (CVP) is the preeminent source for luxury vacation rentals in lovely downtown Charleston, South Carolina and the surrounding areas. We’re a locally-owned, boutique company whose mission is to provide guests with an amazing home away from home as they experience the Lowcountry. Come join the CVP team in the House Person position which assists in maintaining the cleanliness, proper order, and overall appearance of all properties in our portfolio as well as packing linen bags, running laundry and organizing our storage unit.

Job Type: This is a contractor hourly position averaging 40 hours per week. Weekend availability is a must. After 90 days there is the option to shift to a W2 position and participate in health insurance stipend, paid time off and 401k.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for handling laundry logistics in regards to running dirty linens from our storage unit to the local laundry service. After the laundry service is complete, retrieves and returns clean sheets and towels to storage for unpacking.
• Removes garbage from properties after guest check-out and pulls city trash carts and other items being discarded to the curb, when required.
• Deliver guest items (extra linens, coffee station supplies, toiletries, etc.) and other supplies to properties upon request from management.
• Responsible for supporting special cleaning projects, when requested.
• Report missing/found articles, damage, or other maintenance concerns noticed while on-site all properties to management.
• Follows proper protocol for entering and departing guest properties.
• Handles any job-related tasks assigned by supervisor as and when needed.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, and some holidays, as needed.

Education: A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Requirements:

• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate in English to management, co-workers, and guests.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and possess a clean, odor-free, and operational vehicle. Smoking is not permitted while transporting company-owned linens.
• Physical mobility and stamina are required. Position requires standing for long periods of time and on occasion may be asked to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, it may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• The candidate must be able to follow instructions, possess detail orientation skills and demonstrate a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor at all times with guests and CVP employees. Must have the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

Additional Important Information: This is a 1099 Contractor position, also known as an independent contractor, and not a W-2 employee position. As an independent contractor, an individual is self-employed. In addition to any state and federal income taxes, individuals who operate in this capacity must pay self-employment taxes to help finance Social Security for retirement and Medicare for health-related benefits. After 90 days there is the option to transition to a W-2 employee position.
